Resident Artists
Resident Phyllis Towle holds one of her Faberge Egg creations.  Phyllis and her art work are highlighted with many other seniors from the state of New Hampshire in the 2007 New Hampshire Health Care Association Calendar.

One Enchanted Evening
Residents Henry and Alice Voudren enjoy time together at our “One Enchated Evening Social” hosted by Granite Ledges this past May. Residents of Granite Ledges and their invited guests donned formal attire, complete with tuxedos and ball gowns. The evening included entertainment by talented musicians, photo opportunities by local professional photographers and an exquisite display of menu items prepared by the exceptional dietary department of Granite Ledges.

Mardi Gras 2004
The Granite Ledges Mardi Gras Celebration was held on Tuesday, February 24, 2004, on Mardi Gras Day. Along with all the fun and history of Mardi Gras and New Orleans, some of the tasty food served included Gumbo and King Cake. Our first Granite Ledges Mardi Gras King and Queen were also crowned – King Ed Carlson and Queen Charlotte Brunhoelzl.

Kidding Around
Stephanie Eaton, Business Office Manager, and resident Fred Wood enjoy the company from Ruth Scruton’s Traveling Barnyard animals during our National Assisted Living Week celebration at Granite Ledges.

Ruth Appleton, resident and retired attorney, spends special time with the “kid” during National Assisted Living Week.

Fosters Downeast Clambake
On Monday, June 28, 2004 our residents enjoyed a trip to Maine where they visited York Beach, Cape Neddick (“Nubble”) Lighthouse and enjoyed lobster at Fosters’ Downeast Clambake. Here, Wayne, our Recreation Director, has a bit of fun with Dot Levensaler and one of Fosters’ delicious lobsters before it made it to the pot.

Little Visitor
Intergenerational programming is important to the residents of Granite Ledges of Concord. Some programming is scheduled, for example, visits with the Learning Center at Concord Hospital. Other programming is spontaneous, as it was the day that Holly visited the residents of Granite Ledges. Holly is the daughter of one of the nursing assistants and she enjoys seeing the residents as much as the residents enjoy seeing her!

Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk 2004
The Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk was held on October 16, 2004 at the Concord Statehouse. Jane Cipriano, Director of Community Relations for Granite Ledges of Concord, was the Concord chairperson for the walk. Retirement and assisted living communities, skilled nursing centers, adult day care centers, and the Concord Visiting Nurse Association, were among some of the agencies that participated on the committee.

This annual event raises awareness and funds to support local programs for people with Alzheimer’s disease, their families and caregivers.
