Intergenerational Programs
Intergeneration programming is an integral part of the lives of Granite Ledges’ residents.

Granite Ledges of Concord has a special relationship with Learning Center at Concord Hospital. The Learning Center is located next door to Granite Ledges and is a day-care center for children of Concord Hospital employees.

The children make many visits to Granite Ledges, and share in craft making, sing-a-longs, and various other activities. Residents also visit the Learning Center frequently and help with their programs, serving as “adopted grandparents” to children from infancy to preschool age. Residents also take part in activities with older children in the Learning Center’s after-school programs.

Seniors have many stories to share and love to give, as do children. What a wonderful opportunity for all to gather together and enjoy what the other has to offer!

Men’s Group
Granite Ledges of Concord has an established Men’s Group. This group was developed by the Recreation Department and the Director of Maintenance, to give the men of Granite Ledges specialized activities. This group meets every Thursday for their weekly card game and once a month there is a Men’s Breakfast held in the Country Kitchen. These activities are special in that they give the men a chance to spend quality time together, chat about days of long ago, and enjoy each other’s company.

Exercise Programs
Exercise programs are offered Monday through Friday at Granite Ledges. Residents can attend the Strength for Full Life exercise program, the Low Impact exercise program, and the Fitness Zone program. The Recreation Director and Assistant are trained instructors for all programs.

We believe that exercise is important in everyone’s lives. It makes one feel better not only physically but mentally as well. Those who are interested in exercise are encouraged to attend one of the sessions to select the one best suited for the individual.
